What is the difference between a woven and a non-woven geotextile?
Non-woven geotextile is made of fibres bonded mechanically by needle-punching. Being permeable, it is mainly used for separation, filtration, drainage and protection.
Woven geotextile is made by weaving tapes or yarns. With higher tensile strength, it is used more for separation and reinforcement of platforms and embankments.
Which weight of non-woven geotextile should I choose?
The weight depends on the required function and site constraints: soil type, type of fill, site machinery. Low weights suit filtration and drainage; high weights suit geomembrane protection and heavy loads.
GEOFILMAX offers non-woven geotextiles from 50 to 1200 g/m²: describe your project and we will point you to the right weight.
How much overlap should there be between two geotextile strips?
The overlap depends on the soil’s bearing capacity and the project specifications. As a guide, at least 30 cm is generally used on firm ground, and more on soft ground or where water is present. The project specifications always take precedence.
What is a triaxial geogrid used for?
Laid at the base of a granular layer, the triaxial geogrid holds the aggregate, which interlocks with its triangular apertures. The layer is confined, loads are spread over 360° and deformation is limited. It is used for tracks, roads and platforms, especially on soils with low bearing capacity.
When should a drainage geocomposite be used?
Against buried structures, to collect and carry away water: retaining walls, foundations, tunnels, roof terraces and gardens. The HDPE sheet creates a drainage space and the attached geotextile filters the water, holding back soil particles.
How should rolls be stored on site?
Keep the rolls in their packaging, on a flat, clean and dry surface. Avoid dragging them on the ground or leaving them in the sun for long before installation, then cover them within the time set by the project.
Do you deliver anywhere in Algeria?
Yes, we deliver orders to your sites across the whole country. Specify the wilaya and the delivery location in your quote request.
